If I were building my spring capsule now, I’d think less about what’s trending and more about what feels relevant. Right now, it’s about proportion. A longer hemline. A stronger shoulder. A wider trouser. Pieces that skim rather than cling. Fabrics that hold their shape.
Nothing complicated – just subtle shifts that make everything look intentional. This is the edit I would build from. Save it before you shop, I’ve curated a Spring capsule checklist for you to download and refer back to whenever you need.

1. OUTERWEAR

□ Oversized structured blazer
□ Leather jacket (another option HERE).
The shoulder matters. The length matters. If it feels flimsy, it goes.
2. TOPS

□ Crisp oversized white shirt or a black shirt
□ Ribbed tank or a bodysuit
□ Structured heavyweight T-shirt
□ Fine knit (crew or boat neck). I love my merino wool ones or cashmere layers!
□ Breton Top (also love this style).
Fabric quality over trend.
Clean and minimal over complicated.
3. TROUSERS & SKIRTS

□ High-waisted wide-leg trousers (obsessed with my Frankie Shop trousersand my Theory pair).
□ Straight-leg jeans (no distressing). Agolde, Citizens of Humanity and Levi’sare the best in my opinion.
□ A midi skirt or satin trousers (I love my Vince pair, so much so that I got them in three colours).
Longer lines feel fresher than cropped.
Fluid cuts feel sharper than tight.
4. DRESSES / JUMPSUITS

□ Denim or black jumpsuit
□ A long sleeve wrap dress or batwing style dress (this one is great for taller girls)
No fuss.
Cut is everything.
5. FOOTWEAR

□ Sleek leather loafers (more affordable option HERE).
□ Pointed sling backs (also adore this style and here is a high street option for you). Chanel have such cute pairs too, I don’t own any myself but they are definitely on my Wishlist.
□ Minimal white trainers (high street option HERE).
□ One simple evening heel (more affordable option HERE and a high street option).
Shoes anchor proportion.
If they fight the silhouette, they don’t stay.
6. ACCESSORIES

I’ve curated a Spring capsule checklist for you to download and refer back to whenever you need.
The Spring 2026 Capsule Checklist (click to download)
A capsule isn’t about restriction. It’s about clarity.
The most polished wardrobes aren’t built in one shopping trip. They’re shaped gradually, with intention. When everything works together, you stop second-guessing. Getting dressed becomes faster, quieter, more instinctive. You’re not standing in front of a wardrobe full of “almost” pieces – pieces that nearly work, nearly fit, nearly feel right.
Spring doesn’t require reinvention. It asks for refinement. A stronger line. A cleaner finish. A better fabric. The shifts are subtle, but they change everything.
A good capsule removes noise. It sharpens your eye. It makes you ask better questions before you buy: Does this improve the silhouette? Does it balance what I already own? Will it still feel relevant next year?
The goal isn’t minimalism for its own sake. It’s coherence. When the proportions are right and the fabrics hold their structure, the entire wardrobe elevates – without trying too hard.
Build the foundation properly, and everything else becomes easier.
This is where I’d begin. Everything else is styling. And just remember, buy less, choose well. X
Thank you for reading. I hope you found this helpful, whether you’re building your first capsule or simply adding to it for the upcoming season.
Let me know if you’d like a second edition next week with styling touches like scarves, brooches and bags.
