NYFW Diaries: Inside My Suitcase & The Looks I’m Planning

Fashion Week packing is always a bit of a puzzle, particularly when every day involves multiple shows, appointments and events. This time, I’ve decided to be slightly more practical and pack mostly flat shoes, knowing just how much running around New York Fashion Week involves. Before everything went into the suitcase, I photographed the looks I’m planning to wear so I could keep track of what works with what. I thought I’d share them here too, with links to everything I’m wearing, and I’ll keep updating the edit throughout NYFW as the outfits make it out into the real world.

You’ll see I’m wearing the Luna jeans quite a bit. I absolutely love them. They’re incredibly comfortable, not too tight, and feel perfect if New York is going to be as warm as expected. I also really love the wash. They’re so easy to dress up or down and work particularly well with oversized blazers, which, unsurprisingly, feature heavily in my suitcase.

And then there are the shoes. I’ve bought a few new pairs of flats for New York and, perhaps surprisingly, there’s a real mix of designer and high street. The one thing they all have in common is that they’re extremely comfortable, which was non-negotiable for this trip.

There’s one pair in particular that I never thought I would buy, let alone wear. They’re almost a hybrid between a trainer and a ballet flat, and the moment I put them on, I completely understood the appeal. They are ridiculously comfortable. They’re also blue, which, as you know, is not exactly a colour you would normally find on my feet, but somehow they work with everything I’ve been trying on. I genuinely can’t get enough of them.

I’ve also packed my white Prada slingbacks, which will give me a slightly dressier option without committing to a proper heel, as well as my jelly flip-flops for casual coffee morning runs. A little side note on those: I actually bought them twice because my first pair 38 was too small, so I sized up to 39. I never got around to returning the original pair, so they’re now on my Vinted, completely new and around 30% off.

And finally, my new GANNI boots. I love them! They make enough of a statement to completely change a simple outfit, but, crucially, they’re also comfortable. For Fashion Week, that combination is pretty hard to beat. I’m planning to wear them with a sheer mesh skirt and a spaghetti-strap camisole. I love the contrast of something so feminine and delicate with a heavier, more masculine boot. It gives the whole look that slightly androgynous edge that makes it feel much more like me.

So, here is my New York Fashion Week wardrobe so far: the outfits I’ve planned, the pieces that made the final cut and everything linked in one place. I’ll keep updating this edit throughout the week as the outfits make it out into the real world.

And if you want to shop more of what I’m wearing in New York, keep an eye on my LTK and ShopMy, where I’ll be linking everything as I go. I’ll also be sharing more from Fashion Week over on Substack, including the shows, collections and everything happening in between.
